The Revolt by Luigi Russolo
This one is just cool. The first thing I notice is the energy. It almost reminds me of The Flash, or a mob charging forward.
I love the red and how intense it gets toward the middle. You can almost feel the people running. The whole painting seems to be moving in one direction.
I also really like the geometry of it. All the sharp lines and repeated shapes somehow make the movement feel even stronger, while still being incredibly satisfying to look at.
Painted in 1911, The Revolt is part of the Italian Futurism movement, a style obsessed with movement, speed, energy and the rapidly changing modern world.
