Fish Magic by Paul Klee

Now this is much closer to the kind of art I love. Loud colours, strange shapes, and complete chaos.

The first thing that caught my attention was the colour palette. That almost-black, dark green background makes the vibrant blues, pinks, and oranges really pop. There's something wonderfully psychedelic about it.

But what I love most is how much weird shit there is to discover.

You've got fish floating around, flowers, a clock in the middle of nowhere, and even a strange little gnome-looking character near the bottom.

The longer you look, the more things you notice.

I also love the way the colours seem to glow through the darkness. It almost feels like you're looking into some strange underwater dream.

Paul Klee was a Swiss-German artist known for his playful use of colour, abstraction, and symbolism. He created Fish Magic in 1925, using layers of colour covered with dark paint, which he scratched through to reveal the colours underneath.

Which explains some of that wonderful glowing effect.

As for what exactly he was trying to communicate?

I haven't got a clue.

It's weird, chaotic, a little mysterious, and full of things that don't seem to belong together.

And obviously, there are some very cool fish.
